Student Affairs

The Directorate of Student Affairs takes care of the welfare of the students of the Institution. The Directorate oversees issues relating to hostel accommodation, administration of documentation for bursary payment, oversight of students clubs and association affairs, facilitation of academic ceremonies viz; matriculation, graduation and management institutional / students union relationship and constructive oversight of students union.

As a welfare centre, the Directorate acts as a clearing house for student complaints and concerns providing guidance and assistance to students in distress; while also mediating all manner of conflicts involving students. The Directorate articulates students' causes and interests, resolving problems where they arise and ensuring that conflicts do not arise between institutional units and students.

Guidance and Counselling

The Guidance and Counselling Unit was established to help students in actualizing themselves and maximizing their potentialities. It renders services in the area of educational, vocational, social and personal counselling. These varied opportunities are geared and focused proactively on producing citizens who are equipped adequately for the world of work.

It equally promotes healthy mental well being by sensitization through workshops, lectures and retreats on social vices like incidences of cultism, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, drug-addiction, rape, alcoholism, smoking, etc. The one-on-one counselling environmental facilitates students’ access to assistance whenever they are troubled. This ultimately helps in producing students whose abilities and aspirations are well coordinated for job placement.


A limited number of residential accommodations are provided for both male and female students on Campus. The school provides hostel accommodation to deserving students on the basis of need and subject to the availability of bed space in the halls of residence. Special consideration is, however given to foreign students, students’ union executives, fresh students, and distinguished sports men and women.

The halls of residence are hygienically built with kitchenettes, laundries lawns and open spaces for relaxation. Porters and Portresses are employed to attend to students’ welfare. Consultants paid by Management rendered both gardening and cleaning services. Accommodation fees are highly subsidized by Government.

Accommodation Off-Campus

Halls of residence on Campus are grossly inadequate to accommodate the entire students. Off-campus accommodation provided by private entrepreneurs particularly in the outskirts of the town and in few cases within the township of trans-ekulu complements that provided by the institution.

Student's Union Government (SUG)

All registered students are eligible to be members of the Students Union.


The Union is responsible for day-to-day administration of student union on campus. The students’ union executives represent the interest of the whole student body and therefore, liaise between the student body and the school authority.


The student union has two arms of administration that is the Executive and the Students Representative Council.

Relationship with the authority of the institution

The Management has always enjoyed a cordial relationship with the student union executives on campus.


The school believes in and encourages free exchange of ideas, information and opinions on the campus.  However, there is no absolute freedom as freedom attracts a correlative duty.  The right to hold opinion and impart it without any hindrance is guaranteed.  At the same time, the institution expects high level of responsibility and maturity in the exercise of this right.

Dry Mouth

Dry mouth is the condition of not having enough saliva (spit) to keep your mouth wet. The technical term for dry mouth is xerostomia.
