Course directors and faculty advisers are always on hand to offer suggestions for ways to study more effectively, or may recommend study guides or other materials or methods to improve learning and retention, test-taking strategies, organization skills, time management and stress management.

Psychological Counseling:
Unlimited sessions of confidential, psychological counseling is available at no charge to all students to provide adjustment counseling, brief psychotherapy and triage. All student contacts will be confidential.

If a student present a case requiring longer treatment, The Director of Student Affairs will be notified by the consulting practitioner and the student may be referred outside internal structure for consultation at his or her own expense.

Career Counseling:
The Office of Student Affairs offers individual career counseling and information on professional opportunities.
This counseling covers a range of topics that includes clarifying career goals and interests, identifying areas of further training, and helping students confront and resolve doubts about their career choice and their future practice plan decisions. +back to top+

Student Life

Student Union & Organizations

Every Institution has a Students' Union and FEDSDTTEN is no different, it is run by students for students and is an autonomous body to the school. The students in charge of the Union are elected by the membership [you] every academic year during second semester and fill positions. Its vision is to provide "a positive experience for every student." As the official representative for all students, elected student representatives work to strengthen and improve services offered to students on campus and within the community, and to voice student issues and concerns to the school community.

Joining a campus club is a great way to meet people with similar interests. FEDSDTTEN students have created many clubs and associations with diverse objectives including clubs for academic programs, athletics, politics, religion and culture. Each year, the school authority reserves some funds to help student clubs hold awareness campaigns and social events. If there isn't a club that meets your interest, you can start one! The Student Affairs office will assist students in starting a new club, or running and managing an existing club.

Residence

Going away to higher institution can spark an avalanche of change in your life.  It may be the first time you've lived away from home, and this sudden freedom can take some getting used to. Most of our first-year students choose to ease into this new-found independence by living in one of our residence buildings. Some students choose to live in housing off-campus, which is both abundant and close to the school.

Sports & Recreation

Learn how to play tennis or improve your stroke. Learn soccer or chess. Get into hockey. Explore volleyball. Keep up your football skills, play squash with a friend or pump a little iron.

FEDSDTTEN Sports and Recreation Department offers students dozens of ways to have fun, stay fit, compete internally, learn new skills or go for gold in national competition. Every year, students take part in the Nigeria Polytechnic Games.

Students are the heart of a school. From academic achievement to widespread involvement in extra-curricular activities, FEDSDTTEN students are engaged and enthusiastic and have created a community they are proud to call their own. +back to top+
